Your device uses a built-in magnetometer to determine direction. The onX Fish App relies on this sensor for compass accuracy.
If you tap the location button twice in the Fish App and your directional indicator (blue flashlight cone) seems off, you may need to recalibrate it.
Magnetic cases, nearby electronics, or external batteries can interfere—remove them to improve accuracy.
Fixing the compass on iPhones and iPads
- Open the Settings App on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap Privacy & Security.
- Tap Location Services.
- Tap System Services.
- Turn on Compass Calibration.
