Blurry or discolored maps are usually caused by corrupted data or a weak internet connection.
Before heading into low-service areas, make sure you've saved Offline Maps of the entire area and that you switch to Offline Mode. Even with one or two bars, the App may struggle to load imagery or other data until you tell it to only use Offline Maps.
If you notice a blurry/discolored/blank map in the onX Fish App, follow the instructions below to fix the problem.
Update the onX Fish App
Make sure you have the latest version of onX Fish installed—scan the QR code with your device camera to update the onX Fish App.

Check your internet connection
- You’ll need a strong signal (3–4 bars) or Wi-Fi for better performance.
- With 1–2 bars of service, switch to Offline Mode.
- No service? You’ll only see saved Offline Maps at the detail level you downloaded.
Check your Offline Maps
- Open the Offline Maps menu from the bottom toolbar.
- Maps must show a green checkmark to be usable offline.
- Tap Only use offline maps to force the App to use Offline Maps instead of searching for service.
Turn off Recent Satellite imagery
- If you see a date range in the lower left corner of your screen, the Recent Satellite imagery feature is on.
- Tap the Basemap button and choose High Quality imagery.
Clear the App's Cache
Open the Main Menu, tap Settings, scroll down, and tap Clear Map Cache.
