Use the Tools menu to access features related to marking and measuring your map with Waypoints, Lines, and Area Shapes, or Routes that highlight a specific road or trail.
Waypoints, Routes, Lines, and Area Shapes can be edited, deleted, shared, or exported from the My Content menu in the Fish App or Web Map.

Saving Waypoints and marking your location
There are multiple ways to save Waypoints to mark specific points of interest in the Fish App or Web Map.
To quickly drop a Waypoint on a specific location, click or tap your map and select Add Waypoint on the info card that appears.
Additional options for saving Waypoints include the Add Waypoint, Mark my Location, and Add Photo features accessible from the Tools menu.
- Add Waypoint: drop a Waypoint at the center of your screen and edit it before saving.
- Mark my Location: immediately drop and save a Waypoint at your current location.
- Add Photo: drop a Waypoint at your current location with a photo attached.
Tap any Markup on your map to view an info card.
Swipe up to view all available info, and swipe left on the buttons at the bottom of the card to view additional options.
Measuring distances or areas with Lines and Shapes
Use the Line Distance and Area Shape tools to measure distances or areas on your map with Imperial (feet/yards/miles) or Metric (meters/kilometers) units of measurement.
⚠️ Note: distances greater than 300 feet/500 meters are reported in yards or kilometers, respectively.
Line Distance
Tap Line Distance from the Tools menu to measure the distance between two or more points.
Click or tap on your map to quickly drop points in succession, or click/tap Drop Point to precisely place points using the on-screen crosshairs.
Tap Undo to delete the last point, and tap Save to add the Line to the My Content menu.
💡 Tip: With Two Finger Distance Measure enabled in your App Settings, place two fingers on your screen to quickly measure the distance between two points.
Area Shapes
The Area Shape tool measures the area of a saved shape in square miles or meters, depending on what unit of measurement is selected in your App Settings.
Open the Tools menu and tap Area Shape to begin.
Drop points in the same way you would for a Line—tap on the map to quickly drop points, or use Drop Point to place them precisely. Tap Save when you're finished to save the Shape to the My Content menu.
Tap Undo to delete the last point, and tap Save to save the Shape to the My Content menu.
