Use the Settings menu to adjust settings related to notifications, units of measurement, coordinate systems, and more.
Settings menu overview
Access the Settings menu in the Web Map by clicking My Account & Settings > Settings in the toolbar on the left side of your browser.
To change your App Settings, open the App, tap the Main Menu button in the upper left corner of your screen, and tap Settings.
Tap the toggle switch to the right of a specific setting to turn it on or off.
Notifications
- Allow Push Notifications: stay updated about onX Fish feature releases, promotions, and more.
Units and Coordinates
- Units: select Imperial (feet/yards/miles) or Metric (meters/kilometers) units of measurement.
- Coordinates: choose between Decimal, DMS (Degrees, Minutes, and Seconds), DDM (Degrees, Decimal, Minutes), or UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator) coordinate formats.
- Hide Coordinates: reports GPS coordinates on info cards as 0.0, 0.0.
⚠️ Note: distances over 300 feet/500 meters are reported in yards and kilometers, respectively.
Map Settings
- Show Crosshairs: show a crosshair indicator in the center of your map.
- Enable Two Finger Distance Measure: quickly measure distances by tapping two points on the map.
- Lock North Up in 2D: locks your view to a north-up orientation—the map can't be rotated.
- Hide Scalebar When Inactive: hides the scale bar and elevation after a few seconds of inactivity.
Waypoint Settings
- Show Custom Waypoint Names: shows the name of any Waypoints that you've edited the default name for (default name includes Waypoint, Date, & Time).
- Enable Clustering of Waypoints: at higher zoom levels, Waypoints located near each other will be clustered into a single markup icon.
Offline Map Settings
- Show Offline Map Outlines: show or hide the borders of maps you have already saved.
Photo Settings
- Use Cellular for Photos: allow the onX Fish App to use your device's mobile data connection to sync photos between devices instead of waiting for a Wi-Fi connection. Be aware that if you enable this setting, you may incur data charges from your service provider.
App Tools
- Clear Map Cache: clear the map cache to reduce disk usage or clear corrupted cached data. This doesn't affect downloaded Offline Maps.
- Log Viewer: view a log of the App's background activity.
