The onX Fish App needs unrestricted access to your device's location services, battery, and enough available storage space to function properly.
Follow the steps below to make sure your device is ready to go when you need it most.
Turn On Location Services
Make sure your device's location services are turned "on" and that the onX Fish App is allowed to access it either "Always" or "While using".
iPhone/iPad instructions
-
Open Settings.
-
Tap Privacy & Security > Location Services.
-
Turn Location Services on (if it’s off).
-
Scroll down and select onX Fish.
- Set the location permission to Always or While Using.
2. Turn Off Battery-Saving Features
Battery-saving modes can reduce location accuracy or disable the Tracker tool entirely—follow the device-specific steps below to prevent this from happening in the field.
iPhone/iPad instructions
-
Go to Settings > Battery.
-
Turn Low Power Mode off.
3. Free Up Storage
A device with limited storage space can cause the App to lag or crash; if you experience performance issues, try deleting unused photos, music, videos, games, and other apps from your device.
